NEA Specific Stimulus Package Info - Updated 02/24/09

The National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts will receive $50,000,000,  in addition to their FY09 budget of 128MM.  This last fall, the NEA gave out 884 grants, totaling $20 million.

According to Susan Ross, Associate Dean, College of Liberal Arts, 40% (or $20 million) of the ARRA funds will be disbursed via state and regional arts organizations.  The remaining $30 million will be distributed through competitive grants from NEA .   At this point, there is no clear indication that any of that funding will be distributed throught the NEH.
